Applications for September are via the UCAS website. All of the places are for the School Direct Training Programme, we are not offering any salaried places for September.

Entry requirements:

Degree - ideally related to a National Curriculum subject with additional A-Levels in other National Curriculum subjects.

Minimum degree required: Lower Second (Upper second is preferable)

GCSE Qualifications - a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above at the point of application, including grade C in English, mathematics and science plus at least one other National Curriculum subject. 

Skills Tests - Successful completion of the QTS Skills Tests in literacy and numeracy before the start of the course.

Course Dates

​There will be an Induction Day in July. Please note the PGCE course runs throughout the academic year and is a full time course. 

​Term dates for our course are the same as for Cumbria County Council schools.

​These are the official days when you will be required to attend sessions or be in school. 

​During the school holidays you will be expected to carry out independent study through research, work on assignments and lesson planning as well as having some time to re-charge your batteries.
